This series is inspired by the narrow path that loosely winds between century old structures while walking to feed hay to our young colt Santiago.
Everyday, I imagine who has walked this path before me. I wonder if they were focused on preparing to meet the travelers from the stagecoach making a scheduled stop. Perhaps they were headed to the Spring, where the golden willow grows, to draw water for cooking. Maybe young children played hide and seek around the corners, anxiously awaiting their turn to be “it”. On this day, it was a small bunny scurrying to stay out of my (and the dog’s) way while we were doing chores. He was curious however, and took pause, allowing me to snap a few images in just the spot I had been envisioning a subject “on the move” only days prior.
Knowing a storm was coming that evening I put oats out to help him stay warm. I‘ve since only seen his tracks in the fresh snow. But the oats are gone proving his belly full.
